Waste Paper Wonder
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 1993 Jan / Feb Vol II No 1.
Dr Sastry K G K.

There was a great surgeon, Dr. Muthyala Naidu, his wife great poetess and nightingale of India Mrs Sarojini Naidu. They were not only prominent public figures, but also great contributors for the upliftment of the society in various walks of life.

Born of such illustrious parentage is one Dr. Jaisoory, inheriting all the good qualities of both the parents. He graduated in Medicine, MD (Path), from Germany and returned to his motherland, India, to serve in the same hospital as his father did. One day a diabetic patient with gangrene was admitted to the hospital. The senior Dr. Naidu, after examination, suggested amputation as the only treatment of choice. The patient in turn, bluntly refused and preferred to die, rather than lead a crippled life. Three days passed..... without decision. On the third day the junior Dr. Jaisoorya Naidu, ordered his usual pan. Providence struck! Toying with the wrapper of the pan and pondering over the fate of the patient, he suddenly saw a mention of Gangrene on the wrapper! Curiosity aroused, he carefully went through the wrapper and found Secale-cor for Gangrene. He rushed to a Homoeo store and learnt much about Secale-cor. He bought a bottle and tried it on the gangrene patient. A miracle occurred! In a few days the patient was totally relieved.

And a Homoeopath was thus born from a Pathologist. In his honour a trust was established which started a Homoeopathic college in Hyderabad, now known as Jaisoorya Potti Sriramulu Govt Homoeo Medical College.
