This is a case of a 61-year old female patient, who had known nothing but unhappiness all her life. Her life events were as under:
1935: Born in Amritsar; 2nd child. Good childhood.
1955: Passed SSC. Patient not particularly interested in further studies, so after SSC sat at home.
1965: Got married. Husband turned out to be a cheat. He had earlier been married to someone else, but had not told her.
1970: Delivered a baby girl. Married life was not happy; husband was always having extramarital affairs.
1984: Husband remarried. She felt very bad and cried a lot. He did not give her any alimony, but spent a lot on their daughter, who lived with him - even gave her a car.
1986: Daughter got married. Our patient not only was not called for the marriage, but was threatened that if she did come, he would kill her.

Now feels better as she has left him and stays with sister. Says never seen good times till now. Her brother, sister and brother-in-law are very good to her.
She came to me on 19/11/96 for Herpes Zoster on [R] side of chest, which started a month earlier; there was burning more at night, better by cold. She also had hypertension, flatulence and uncontrolled diabetes since 2 ½ years.

She had Bypass Surgery on 13/6/97. I was not informed about it at the time of consultation. On 27-6-97 her sister came to me as the operation would was not healing.
Based on the symptoms: Delayed healing of wound; very deep wound; Blood Sugar very high; Feeling she will die. She was prescribed Ignatia.

Treatment
29-7-97 Ignatia 1 M - 1 dose; Calc-s 30 TDS
9-9-97 Better but pus was still present: Tub-b 1 M - 1 dose; Calc-s 30 TDS
16-9-97 Pus, Weakness, Acidity + ctall
23/9/97 Weak 3, Thirst ++: Tub-b 10 M -1
Now the actual treatment for diabetes was started and her full history recorded as detailed above and she was given Phos-acid 30 (3)
7/10/97 Weakness better. FBS - 103. Reading showed improvement. Gradually reduce insulin. Phos-acid 200 (3)
14/10/97 Better: Tub-b 10 M - (1)
2/12/97 FBS= 70. Treatment carried on this way with Blood Sugar decreasing. Accordingly the dose of insulin was gradually tapered off and maintained with weekly doses of Ph-acid 200.
