China - A Homoeopathic I V Drip

A good Homoeopath can attend to any emergency except those which:

  1. require immediate surgical intervention.
  2. normal blood chemistry.
  3. is life threatening.

For these, allopathy has very well proven, life-saving drugs and techniques which all pathies should use to save the life of the patient. Some of my cases:

Case 1:
In 1968, my eldest son who was then three months old, had a very severe attack of diarrhoea. The stools were putrid and gushing painlessly every 5-10 minutes. Some medicines were given without much relief. By evening the diarrhoea still persisted and he was dehydrated with sunken eyeballs. The child needed immediate hospitalization. At that moment my sister walked in with a homoeopath who looked at the stool and then put 2 tiny globules on the childs tongue and gave one more dose of two globules to be given in case there was another motion. Magically, the second dose was never required. The baby did not pass any stool for two full days retaining and regaining all the fluid that had been lost. The remedy was Podophyllum 6.

Case 2:
An old lady was suffering from diabetes since many years. She suddenly came down with fever and diarrhoea and became unconscious. Her urine output was neglible. She was immediately rushed to a hospital. Her blood urea level was found to be high. She was diagnosed as a case of Acute Renal failure. Doctors suggested shifting her to a major hospital for dialysis. When I went to see her, she was sleeping with a calm expressionless face. Boericke mentions Opium as a remedy for uraemia. A few doses of Opium were put on her tongue frequently. When I left I told the relatives to let the doctors do what they considered proper in the best interests of the patient.

The next mornings her son came and reported excitedly, that half an hour after the homoeopathic drug the patient had passed urine. So the doctors decided to wait for some more time before starting dialysis. Slowly her consciousness also returned. Her blood urea came to normal and she was discharged in a couple of days.

Ten days later she had an attack of diarrhoea. It started at midnight and by next evening, she passed about 10 motions and started losing consciousness. Her son telephoned me for a visit. I asked him to give water frequently to prevent dehydration. I saw that the patients breathing was accelerated and tongue slightly protruding out. China 30 was prescribed every three minutes. In minutes the patient asked for water and drank two full glasses. She asked for more in another few minutes. Her breathing became regular and consciousness was regained. The diarrhoea also stopped.

Since then, I regard China as a homoeopathic I V Drip and Ipecac as a bronchodilator.

Case 3:
A 15 days old infant had her tongue and buccal cavity full of apthous ulcers, with not even an inch of normal mucosa. The infection was spreading rapidly into the throat and could cause gangrene. An allopath had prescribed a dose of 2 injections daily for 5 days. Scared, the parents came to me, for homoeopathic treatment.

Kents repertory mentions three drugs in bold - Merc, Borax and Sulph-ac. Some other drugs in italics were Kali-chlor, Mur-ac, Nux-m, Nux-v, Sulphur etc. I had no other symptoms to rely on. The mouth was not dry nor was the child irritable. So, I ruled out Nux-vom. No saliva and hence I ruled out Merc. The mouth was not as hot as in Borax nor were the palms and soles indicating Sulphur. I selected Sulph-ac by the process of elimination. A dose was put in the patients mouth, and three doses for the night.
The next morning all the ulcers had vanished.

Case 4:
A patient had severe toothache since 3 days and was to go for extraction. He could take water only in sips, as it aggravated the pain. However sips of hot tea gave him comfort. Mag-phos 30 was prescribed. In three doses given within 10 minutes, he was free from pain and asked for cold water which he could now drink without any pain. His tooth was also saved!.
