Case History
Mrs AA C, teacher by profession came to me on 11-12-03 for her skin trouble. She was suffering from Keratoderma characterized by hyperkeratosis and crack³ on palms and soles. Few cracks were very deep and bleed at times.

This started 3 yrs ago and no treatment had helped. .Had hick and wide black lines on nails. Some times had numbness and tingling of limbs.

Patient as a Person
Perspiration: Scanty. Appetite: Normal.
Thirst: Small quantity, often
Thermals: Chilly
Aggravating Factors: Winter, Cold bath, Using chalk while writing.

On detailed case taking on successive visits, she finally opened up.

Mind
She was bit fastidious, confident about her duties, slightly dominating character. The most striking symptom was an unusual fear of cholera / loose motion whenever she has to face any strenuous situation.

Treatment
Petroleum 30/200
Nitric-acid 1M twice a wk
Nitric-acid 10M once a month
Psorinum 1M as a intermittent remedy

The results were gratifying, now her palms and soles are 90% better.

Reasons for Selection of Medicine

·         Cracked, fissured skin some times bleeding too indicative of Nitric Acid.

·         Originally of strong constitution, cracked fissured, ragged exfoliated, bleeding skin and worse in winter indicative of Petroleum

·         Unusual fear of cholera is great mental feature of Nitric Acid

·         Psora is the basic miasm in the back ground and agg in winter is indicative of Psorinum.
