Nose Block released

'Am-carb

I have seen during my 15 years of practice, that Keynote prescribing sometimes solves difficult cases and I want to share the following case with fellow NJH colleagues. A 37-year female came to me for the complaint of blocked nose; could only breathe through mouth the whole night. This problem worsened in rainy weather. During history taking, she reported that she wakes up every morning around 3'0 clock, and thereafter cannot sleep till she uses nasal drops along with cough syrups. She had suffered thus for 5/6 years; and day by day the condition was worsening. I consulted Dr Phatak's Repertory under 'nose obstruction' and combined it with the symptom 'during menses she used to pass diarrhoea and vomiting'. I found in Keynotes of Allen: cholera-like symptoms were felt at the time of commencement of menses. And this keynote symptom gave me a definite hint for prescribing Am-carb. After giving Am-carb 200, she has been having sound sleep without complications. I kept her on Sac-lac for a month. Thereafter she felt completely cured.
