CASE 1: A CASE OF ECZEMA

Mrs S S aged 35, suffered from dry eczema on both forearms since the last 20 years. There was itching, white scaling followed occasionally by burning. Worse in winter, evening, bathing after, dust, caustic soda.

She also had breathlessness on exposure to dust and constipation.

Craving - sweets. Hot patient, prefers winter season.

She was very fastidious in the sense that she wanted perfection in each and every thing. Sometimes it caused such depression and anxiety in her. She was also very sensitive and would get hurt easily.

F-H - Father- Ca throat

Treatment and Follow-up:

6-3-92: Carcinosin 200-1 dose was given followed by SL.

Reasons for prescribing Carcinosin: (1) The patient had been treated by many Homoeopaths before, and been given the indicated remedy with no change. I hypothesised that the basic miasmatic dyscrasia was acting as an obstacle to the path of cure;

2) Fastidious;

3) The strong family history of Ca throat (in father).

17-3-92: Itching much less. SL for one month.
22-4-92: Only black scar remains, no itching of skin or constipation. SL for one month.
22-5-92: Scar fading, no itching, no constipation, breathlessness less; even on exposure to dust SL for one month.
25-6-92: No complaint, SL for one month.
27-7-92: Pain in back, no other complaints, Rhus-tox 200 three doses followed by SL for a month.
30-8-92: No complaint. SL for a month.

Since 1992, the patient has no complaints.
