Fibroid Surgery avoided by Homeopathy

A lady aged 42 years came to me on 26.12.2000 with the sonography report showing small subserous Fibroids and bulky uterus with hypertrophied cervix. She consulted her gynecologist, who advised hysterectomy. She was afraid of surgery and therefore came for Homoeopathic treatment. With my past experience having treated fibroids earlier successfully, I assured her that I would do my best to ensure speedy recovery.

Present Complaints

1. High BP- 170/90 to 150/90, with accompanying headache, violent palpitation and vertigo. She could not get up with high BP and felt totally exhausted and weak.
2. Acidity, burning and belching.
3. Pain in all joints for last 9 to 10 years
4. Leucorrhoea for last one year.
5. Profuse menses earlier with clots, painful, duration was 7-8 days, sometimes even 10-12 days - weakness during menses.
6. Recurrent ulcers in mouth, burning and stitching pain with increased salivation.
7. Severe pain in right hypochondrium after jaundice
8. Pain in cervical region diagnosed as Cervical spondylitis. Pain in neck and both shoulders aggravating after bending head.

Past History

1. Jaundice 2 years back
2. 2 abortions

Family History

1. Father died of Heart attack
2. Mother - hysterectomy - profuse bleeding.

Patient as a Person

1. Weight: 55 Kgs
2. Appetite : Poor
3. Desire: Nothing significant
4. Aversion: Acids and oily foods.

Discussion
After taking the whole history, and from my past experience, the first remedy which came to my mind was Aurum-mur-nat and I remember one line of Dr Clarke of Practical Materia Medica was - Burnett considers it to have more power over uterine tumors than any other gold preparation. I went through the medicine and found the medicine covered all symptoms of the lady. Confirmed by the involvement of liver.

Treatment: I started giving her Aurum-mur-nat in 6th potency thrice a week with Thlaspa-bursa-pectoris Q-10 drops daily in order to control profuse menses. The result was excellent; within 2 months, her bleeding was controlled and her pain of joints and right hypochondrium was better. Thereafter I gave her Aurum-mur-nat in 6th potency once a week for next 4 months. Thereafter I asked for Sonography; the result was encouraging. I attach reports of both - the beginning and after Homoeopathic treatment. The second report: no fibroid but still has bulky uterus. The treatment is being continued for bulky uterus.
