Case 55: Unquenchable Thirst
NATIONAL JOURNAL OF HOMOEOPATHY 2006
Dr Satish Kanojia
'Arsenic-alb

Master TKD, 3 yrs old, was brought by his parents with complaints of diarrhoea, vomiting and fever, acute onset.

On Examination
Temperature: Body warm to touch, Temperature was 100°F
Pulse: 100/mins

But the characteristic symptom which the father told and which clinched the remedy was, "Doctor, since he has this ailment, he is asking for water frequently", i.e. thirst was markedly increased.

Treatment
Arsenic-alb 200, 6 doses, 1 hourly as the pulse was disproportionate to the temperature, so I concluded that most frequent repetition required.

Next morning the child came with a smile on his face which was missing the previous day and the parents were obviously very happy because after the 3rd dose the fever came down along with the diarrhoea and vomiting.
